Here’s a list of the core lessons I’ve learned over the years. These concepts have become my personal philosophy and code of conduct, and have served me quite well during some rather difficult times.
Be courageous enough to dream ambitiously
In every situation, learn to recognize the opportunity to build your character
Put your energy primarily into what you can control
Make every effort to be the best you can, in whatever situation you happen to find yourself
Focus on growth. It doesn’t matter where you are today, only that you recognize and act upon your innate ability to learn and improve
Respect the instinct within you that has been responsible for driving all human progress
Recognize that countless generations before you have struggled and sacrificed in order to put you here. You owe it to your ancestors to live a beautiful life, and to pass along their legacy
Failure is not real. On a long enough timeline, the odds of success always rise to 100%
Master your emotions and impulses, or live as a slave to them
Never do anything that you don’t want to become a habit
You owe it to yourself to be the best you can
Pursue excellence in every area of life
Never allow negativity to gain purchase in your mind
Assign blame only to yourself, for this is the only way to true power
Understand that happiness is a habit you must continuously practice
Start where you are right now. Deep down you already know what you need to do, and all that matters is that you go to bed better than when you woke up
Control your perspective. Life can be whatever you wish
Life is much more simple than you would like to think. Don’t overcomplicate things
The longer you wait to do something, the more difficult it becomes to start
Articulate and define who you want to become, or that person will never manifest
The best option is usually keeping your mouth shut
